Inspired by Kirth Kiln Playtime and Ship Rock Roller from Kieran Ryan's "Off road cycling adventures" and from some excelent riding during MTB-orienteering events held in this area. The first and last thirds of the ride have some steep decents and climb, but the main loop out to Basan Corner is a gentle ride up an unsealed road (unless you take the steep optional track). This ride has some great views of the ridge and along the SEC line and a amazing sense of the changing environment as you decend though the cold climbate rain forests. by martinpboland
