The way points of this bicycle route:
Starting from intersection of Flora St and Oak Rd. Kirrawee Station is just south.
Cross Acacia Rd North (Princes Hwy) using the traffic lights. Then turn right on the far side of Acacia Rd North (Princes Hwy). April 2007, the crossing isn't shown on the satellite image.
Right on the far side of Acacia Rd North (Princes Hwy). Head down hill to the next set of lights. This is a busy road but you should have enough time to get to the next lights before the traffic catches up to you.
At the intersection of Acacia Rd North (Princes Hwy) and Old Princes Hwy, use the crossing at the traffic lights to continue up Acacia Rd North.
Cross the road closure to continue along Acacia Rd North, which is now alot quieter.
Left into The Boulevarde.
Right into Toronto Pde.
Toronto Pde becomes Railway Cr.
Roundabout, continue along Railway Pde.
Traffic lights at intersection of Railway Cr and Box Rd. Jannali Railway Station is on your left. Continue along Railway Cr.
Railway Cr becomes Novarra Cr.
Como Pub is on your left. If you lock your bikes up to the fence on your right you can keep an eye on them from the pub veranda. If you have too many cleansing ales at the pub to keep cycling, Como Station is about a ten minute stagger south.
Veer left to the shared ped/bike path. BBQs, seating and tables are in Como Pleasure Grounds just to the east. Resturant and takeaway are just in front of you. Behind that is Como Marina.
Route crosses Georges River using the old railway bridge. Please note till Nov 2009 the bridge deck is being renewed. It may be closed weekdays 9am to 12:30pm every second week, ph 8754 1939 for details.
After crossing Georges River route continues up hill along path to SE of railway. Neverfail Bay is on your right.
Path finishes, continue up hill along Myra Place.
Right into Oatley Parade.
Oatley Station is on your left, shops and park are on your right.
Roundabout, turn left into Boundary Road.
Single lane bridge over railway, watch for oncoming traffic.
Traffic lights at intersection of Boundary Rd, Roberts Ave and Universal St. Continue along Boundary Rd.
Left into Stanley St at the traffic lights.
Stanley St becomes Lorraine St.
We want to turn right into Hannons Ave. But its no right turn from here. We are also only just around a corner from Stanley St and risk getting tail-ended turning right. Its best to go along Lorraine St a little, do a U-turn, then left into Hannans Ave.
U-turn...
Left into Hannans Ave.
Right into Forest Rd.
Traffic lights, cross the intersection of Forest Rd and Henry Lawson Dr to get to Jacques Ave.
Get into the right lane, you are going to turn right soon.
Right into Belmore Rd South.
Riverwood Police Station is on your left, continue along Belmore Rd South.
Left into Short Rd. Riverwood Station is a few hundred metres north.
Right into Keppel Ave.
Left into Webb St.
Right at the west end of Webb St to go via single lane underpass of railway. Please note, Webb St underpass is closed for the K2RQ construction.
Left into Lillian Rd.
Lillian Rd ends, then short section of grass, then path starts.
A boardwalk starts here, it can be slippery in the wet. To follow this route go straight ahead, if you turn right theres a boardwalk to a BBQ , tap and small rotunda about 200m NE.
Bridge over Salt Pan Creek. From here you could turn left and go south under the railway bridge to Padstow. Be aware that bikes are banned from being ridden on the boardwalk :-( If you follow the boardwalk to the NW it takes you up Salt Pan Creek towards Bankstown. Theres often people fishing here (don't eat the fish).
