The way points of this bicycle route:
Day 28 (Nov 10) of a planned ride from Narita to Fukuoka. Begin by heading south on 295, the road on the west side of the hotel.
Intersection of Hwy's 11 (E/W) and 262, about a block from the bus station.
Just after crossing the tracks.
Stay on the highway, following the Hashimoto River.
Merges in from right. Continue on 262.
Angles off to the right. Continue straight.
Turn an angled right onto Hwy 32.
Continue straight (right)
Merge with Highway 490, and continue south.
Leave to the right, heading west on highway 32.
Turn right (North onto 28), and prepare for a left back on Hwy 32 shortly, just past two reserviors on the right.
Go to the left (SW), on highway 32.
Stay to the right (straight), stil on highway 32.
Cross Highway 31, staying on 32.
End of Highway 32. Merge into 435, heading south.
Leave to the right on Hwy 240, going west. Note that the book stays on 435 here, but it looks busier.
Could go south here, but it looks like we can go a few blocks further, and drop through Mine, past the train station. Might be a good break stop.
Head south, just after crossing a stream and the tracks.
Turn right, one block past the station.
Merge onto the highway, heading west.
The highway forks. The main one goes north on an apparent crossover, but stay straight on 33.
Turn south on the highway just after crossing the tracks.
Continue south on 33, following the stream and tracks.
Continue straight.
Hwy 33 briefly merges with 65, just before the Freeway. Turn right, not going under the freeway.
Hwy 65 leaves for the north, on the right. Continue straight, parallelling and then passing under the freeway and back again.
Hwy 33 turns south right after crossing under the freeway a second time, and then parallels it.
After passing under the freeway once more, Hwy 3 intersects Hwy 266 from the right. Continue straight.
Cross over 260, staying on 33, and then cross the Yoshida river. Turn south, following the river.
Just before the tracks, turn right, leaving the river and following the tracks.
Merge into Highway 491, adjacent the tracks. Continue west.
Looks like a smal town or village here, with a station. Bear to the SW, following the tracks, on 491.
Cross highway 40, and continue soutn.
Merge into Highway 2, by the Kanmon Kaikyo (strait to the Inland Sea).
247 leaves to the right. Continue straight, following the Strait.
Could continue straight here, on highway 9; but it looks a bit quieter to go inland for a bit on Hwy 246.
Hwy 246 merges back with highway 9, and is where you would have arrived by continuing straight earlier.
We're a block in front of the station. Hotel 38 should be one block to the north of this intersection. It's tall, with it's name in English. The route continues though, to include the ride to the ferry.
Turn left onto route 250, just after crossing the tracks north of the station.
Route 250 crosses a large river. If we can't bike on this bridge, there's a smaller one a block or so north that we can use and then return to 250.
Just past the bridge, cross through the junction with route 151.
Pass through the junction with 252 also.
Turn left at a stoplight, by a Honda lot.
Turn left at a T junction, in front of a golf course.
