The way points of this bicycle route:
Day 13 (Oct 23) of a planned ride from Narita to Fukuoka. Head west on the main road on the north side of the hotel.
Cross highway 151. A block later, angle slightly to the south.
Go straight through a 6 way intersection.
Cross highway 77
Enter highway 92 at a light.
Stay on the highway as it angles to the right, and soon cross the river.
Intersect at a light, continuing west on the main road.
Cross highway 23 at a light
Turn right, staying on 92, and soon cross the river. Continue through several lights and cross the tracks.
Still on 92. Another river crossing shortly ahead.
Stay on 92 as it turns right.
Turn left on 92, and cross the river.
turn right again on the other side of the river, still on 92.
Turn left at the light, onto 53.
Stay on 53, and shortly begin climbing. It looks like about a mile or so of steep climbing, perhaps 800 feet, and then it drops again.
After dropping from the hills, and just after crossing the tracks, turn right onto a small street and avoid the highway for awhile. This is the outskirts of Sekigahara.
cross 257, staying on local streets.
Just after passing the Sekigahara station, turn right at the light onto highway 21. Stay on 21 for awhile, generaly following the tracks on the right and the freeway on the left.
Leave 21 on an angling road to the right, and follow a small side road for awhile if it's suitable.
Cross back over route 21 and then the tracks, staying on the side road.
Get back on 21 again.
21 merges into route 8 at a Y. Turn left.
Leave the highway by a station, and turn west toward the lakeshore.
Turn left onto route 2 at the lakeshore. Follow the lakeshore to Hikone, hopping off the highway from time to time.
Leave the highway for a bit at a light, getting off onto the lakeshore road.
Back onto route 2, at a light.
Now in Hikone, turn left onto route 517, following a canal on the right. Shortly, pass through the grounds around Hikone castle and head for the station.
Turn right at a light, just at the end of the canal.
Right at another light, and head for the station.
Stop at the last stoplight before the station, and look around. The Sunroute Hotel is described as being immediately before the station.
