The way points of this bicycle route:

Steep pass ahead and a tunnel but worth it.

Old Rt 32. Very scenic.

Check out the Peeing Boy statue coming soon on the left.

Beautiful views down to the river from a wide sidewalk most of the way.

Mont-Bell outdoors store and rafting trips.

Here we go again over that pass. More fantastic riding ahead.

Iya Kazura-bashi (Vibe Bridge). Have a look but don't bother paying to cross. There is a much better place further in.

Bukeyashiki (Samurai house). A 30' steep climb and not very much to see but a good way to appreciate the remoteness of life here.

Chiiori is somewhere in this area. Also waaaaay uphill.

Oku Iya Kazura-bashi. For the same price as one bridge in the west you get two bridges plus a hand-drawn cable car! Fewer tourists too. Recommended.

The hike up Tsurugi-san is recommended but be ready for cold wind at the top. You can continue toward Takamatsu along Rt 438 going north or head east and then north along Rt 492.
