Highland Park to Arcade & 7th on East Side

The way points of this bicycle route:

Start. Near College of St Catherine. North on Cleveland. Busy but short leg.

Right on driveway to St. Catherine. Wrong way on one-way, but traffic is very slow. Be careful.

Bear left at parking lot on top of hill.

Bear right at circle drive.

Follow small campus street as it turns left (north). Through parking lot to Randolph Avenue.

Right on Randolph. Busy but short leg.

Left on Howell.

Right on Palace.

Left on Fairview Avenue. Has marked bike lane.

Right on Summit Avenue. Has marked bike lane.

Veer left at stop sign, continue on Summit.

Continue straight ahead at Selby stoplight. Summit becomes John Ireland. Has marked bike lane. This street is not as busy as you'd expect, even at rush hour.

Right on Martin Luther King Blvd, circular street in front of capitol.

Straight through the 4-way stop at Cedar. Watch for cars entering and leaving parking ramps.

Left on Robert Street.

Right on University Ave. Worst traffic on this route, but it's at least 4 lanes. Watch for cars.

Continue on University. Move to the left turn lane under the 35E bridge.

Left on Mississippi Street.

Through the busy intersection at Pennsylvania, quick right on the sidewalk. Sidewalk becomes bike trail on north side of Phalen Blvd. Alternative: ride on marked shoulder of Phalen Blvd.

Through the light at Payne Avenue.

Left on exit road for Arcade Street.

Right on Arcade. Busy but short leg. Marked shoulder over the bridge.

Watch for cars into and out of gas station at Reaney Ave.
