My wife and I rode this route in the Fall of 2010 as part of a multi-state tour. From High Springs south to the Marion County line (about 10 miles north of Dunnellon), US 41 has a good shoulder and runs through mostly rural areas with little traffic. The shoulder disappears at the Marion County line and the traffic picks up significantly, so be careful and you may want to consider alternate routes into Dunnellon. Just south of Dunnellon you can pick up the Withlacoochee State Trail to go further south.by colobikenut
