The way points of this bicycle route:
Start at Heathcote station. You can park here or catch the train.
Take the drop into the Royal National Park. A lovely swooping downhill, but watch the bends.
Long steady climb starts here. It's quite manageable but pace yourself to enjoy it. Traffic generally pretty light.
Great place to recharge if you need to. Ocean views and munchies.
Stop here for coastal views and maybe a snack. Don't wait too long or you'll cool down. Options here are to go down the hill to Stanwell Park, stay on LH Drive to Stanwell Tops (but not recommended due to narrow, steep road with a fair bit of traffic), go back where you've been or take the dip down to Otford.
Steep hill starts here! There's very little traffic, so you can wander all over the road if you need to, or just collapse onto it.
Nice cafe half way along Walker, on the right just before Bi Lo.
Mostly downhill and pretty quiet to Waterfall.
Now just a cruisy 7k downhill back to Heathcote.
There are plenty of shops here and the pub just along the road a bit north is quite nice.
