The way points of this bicycle route:
Turn left to avoid mian road.
Left into main road. Moderate to heavy traffic.
Down the quieter side road, crossing at the traffic lights
Get onto the gravel cycle path by the side of teh road
Onto the gravel cycle alongside Spring Park
Enter the field through the gate. Follow the steep, bobbly dirt path up the hill.
Follow the path round to the left into the woods.
Get off and push up a very steep dirt track. At the top floow the path to the left.
Turn right off the main path into a quite steep path. Easy to get lost here!
Its a bit tricky through the woods as there are a number of paths!
Into the clearing, gentle upward slope.
Down hill for a bit from here.
There are a few options here but stick to the right, down a narrow path that does down and up into the next clearing.
Another open stretch. A couple of benches here if you need a rest, take in the sun and watch the magpies.
Take teh path to the left of the bench.
Wind your way through the woods, can't go wrong.
Get onto the road for a fast ride down the hill.
Get off the road and follow the path around the school. Sometimes a bit busy in term time.
The path around the school is a bit rough, slightly up hill.
Nice looking pub here if needed. Cross busy junction.
Left into Oaks Rd. Undulating road where you can get some speed up.
Turn right towards Oaks Farm
Quiet road, downhill. Sometimes has police cars waiting there for some reason.
Where the road turns right, turn left into the woods.
Follow th grass path. Mostly flat here but a bit bumpy.
Thropugh a smallish gap in the hedge. Mind your head.
Cross the tramline and join the main road. Usually heavy traffic but a good stretch downhill.
Can get a bit busy here so you can get on the pavement to make progress.
A little bit uphill over the bridge.
Traffic lights here, down hill, heavy traffic.
Try and get into the road a bit as you'll need to turn right at the next lights.
