The way points of this bicycle route:
Griffith Park to the Rose Bowl and back with good hills and low traffic. A real nice general workout ride with some of real nice scenery and neighborhoods.
Here you can add about 6 miles by going South to Fletcher and back. A good way to wake the muscles up.
Good Bakery in this small cute neighborhood shopping area
You can cut up GlenOaks Blvd. straight to Chevy Chase here but it is a fairly hefty grade on that hill.
Here the climb and fun begins.
The Chicken and Kebab Restaurant may have potential for a light snack.
Don't forget to stop and enjoy a great view of Pasadena.
Water, Bathroom and a good general rest stop.
Begin a mild climb back to Chevy Chase.... but a sweet shady climb.
Just a bit of a good climb to the summit, then all downhill from here.
Cute little neighborhood park. Bathroom if needed.
A real sweet climb and Brand Library makes a good destination as well. Worth the effort.
This is a nasty Intersection, proceed with caution... being that folks will cut you off to get to the freeway entrance.
Careful, and don't drop the soap!
Just a lovely wooded climb into Griffith Park.
Note, if short on time, continue forward on Griffith Park Drive, and this will take you back on a shorter route.
This street is not of the best quality. So proceed with a bit of caution, missing pee gravel and small pot-holes. But a truly lovely ride.
Since you are here, go South, up to see the Observatory for a few minutes.
I hate Los Feliz and do everything possible to avoi. Suggest the sidewalk here to get back to Griffith Park Drive.
