Griffith Park to Elysian Fields to Mt. Washington

The way points of this bicycle route:

Pote Field /Crystal Springs Parking Lot

I like this lot, mostly cause this is the Ranger's Station area and safe. THe Bathroom at the station is clean and has tons of room for dressing!

RIGHT: Crystal Spring Drive

RIGHT: onto Zoo Drive

RIGHT: to the L.A. River Bike Route

FORWARD: onto Crystal Springs

RIGHT: Fletcher Drive

NOTE: This is not a safe street. Narrow and a bit difficult, travel with care.

LEFT: Riverside Drive

NOTE: Difficult Intersection

RIGHT: Stadium Drive

NOTE: A good hefty climb starts here... but a clean road and very safe. 6% to 9% Grade.

LEFT: Elysian Park Dr

Continue up for great views and 5 - 9 % Grade Climbs.

Gay Cruising Area

Be Careful! Don't drop the soap here dude. Great Views of the city.

LEFT: Park Row Dr

Caution: Rough Road ahead until you reach Broadway. Go slow and easy here.

LEFT / FORWARD: Park Row Dr

ROugh Road ocntinues... you may wish to try going Right, down into Casanova... may be smoother roadways than what is ahead.

LEFT: Broadway

LEFT: Pasadena Ave

RIGHT: Avenue 26

Do Note: Lincoln Heights can be a bit "Dodgy" with gangs, etc... at least for a white boy on a really expensive Italian bike.

LEFT: Griffin Avenue

FORWARD: Avenue 52

Griffin Avenue turns into Avenue 52

FORWARD: Avenue 52

Continue forward on Avenue 52

LEFT: Monte Vista St

LEFT: Marmion Way

RIGHT: Mt. Washington Drive

The start of a real lovely climb up Mt. Washington

Continue on Mt. Washington... Grade is 6% to 10%... good little climb and pretty.

RIGHT: San Rafael Ave

OF NOTE: Steep Downhill grad (7 - 9 %). Make sure the brakes are good.

HARD STEEP LEFT: Terrace 49

Be Careful !

RIGHT: Cleland Ave

LEFT: El Paso Drive

Caution on El Paso.. just a bit narrow.

LEFT: Eagle Rock Blvd

Right onto the Bike Lane in front of "Fresh and Easy"

RIGHT: Avenue 36

RIGHT: Weldon Avenue

LEFT: Chapman Street

LEFT: Avenue 32

Back to Fletcher

RIGHT: Fletcher Drive

Of Note: Fletcher is a bit narrow and "crazy" traffic when busy. Proceed with caution.

RIGHT: Atwater Avenue

Of Note: you can easily proceed forward on Fletcher to the LA River Bike Trail for a "No Traffic" return to Griffith Park.

LEFT: Garcia Street

RIGHT: Glenhurst Aveneue

CONTINUE: to Glenfeliz Blvd.

LEFT: Los Feliz Blvd

Los Feliz traffic is always a bit nasty... proceed with caution.

Of Note: this is a difficult traffic area... proceed with caution.

RIGHT: into Griffith Park onto Crystal Springs Dr

RIGHT: into the Parking Area by the Ranger Staion

END: in the Parking Lot
