Right on Massey Chapel Rd
Durham completion due Dec. 2010. When Chatham opens (Aug. 2009), ATT can be ridden 14 miles from here to New Hill trailhead.
Left on NC Hwy 751 (traffic!)
Right on Stagecoach Rd
Originally (1905-06) a rail corridor. Now a rough, sandy but scenic 2.3 mile trail to Jordan Lake.
Left on Farrington Rd
Straight on Barbee Chapel Rd
Left just before NC Hwy 54 onto paved sidepath
Paved sidepath along NC 54.
Left on Finley Golf Course Rd
Ride through Botanical parking lot, then left onto Laurel Hill Rd.
Botanical Garden and Laurel Hill Rd both have construction projects. May want to walk your bike.
Left on S Laurel Hill Rd (If still under construction then walk bike up hill)
Right on Kings Mill Rd
Left on Coker Dr
Bear right on Morgan Ck Rd
Right on Morgan Ck Rd
Cross and turn left on 15-501-54 (traffic!)
Bear right on exit ramp for 15-501
Left on 15-501 (Columbia St)
After James Taylor Bridge, right onto Culbreth Rd (NC Bike 2)
Right on Smith Level Rd (anything but level)
Right on Rand, continue straight to gates
Straight into apartment complex
Right onto paved greenway
Straight on Eugene/Wesley St
Left on Brewer Ln
Right on NC's first rail-with-trail.
Right on Merritt Mill Rd
Left on Cameron Ave
Cross Columbia St (NC 86) into UNC campus
Watch for UNC's "Old Well" on your left
Left on Raleigh St
Cross Franklin St onto Hillsborough St
Check brakes before steep downhill run
Right onto sidewalk at MLK Blvd (NC 86)
Right on Bolin Ck Greenway, slow for pedestrians. Pavement repairs continuing (May 2009).
Left on Community Center driveway (or first tackle their climbing wall)
Right on S Estes Dr
Cross US 15-501
Paved bike path on east side of 15-501.
Left on Cleland Dr
Cleland Dr is being rebuilt (May 2009). Wide tires or walking may be needed.
Right on Burning Tree Dr
Now on paved sidepath on opposite side of NC 54.
Right on trail, tunneling under NC 54
After NC 54 tunnel, turn left on bike path and retrace route (6 mi.) back to Durham REI.
