The way points of this bicycle route:
trail is closed north of here from Stewart Street to Riverscape (at least through 2009). so have to start at Carillon Park and go south.
trail follows East River Rd for a little way
leave East River Rd
stairs take you to the Moraine spur across the river
connecting path to a McDonalds on the left
trail leaves the river for a few miles at this point
alternate starting point
rejoin the river
several eateries in town (I like Bullwinkles)
cross Linden
another alternate starting point
trail parallels Dixie Hwy (Day-Cin Pke) at this point.
access to Jackson St
trail joins River St
cross 2nd St. eateries along main street in town
trail takes a right turn away from the street after crossing the rail road tracks
southern end of trail from Dayton (parking lot on right) left on Baxter to continue to Middletown
right on rt 73 (decent shoulder)
stay on Verity Pkwy until new parking lot for Middletown trail head (option left onto Breiel Blvd and imediate right onto Riviera Dr to take city streets to previous Middletown trail head)
turn right to new parking lot and start of Middletown trail
neighborhood access
continue under Central Ave, or head up into the city
