R on Mackenzie St

L on Annesley St

R on Catherine St

L on Albion St

Whites Ck Lane forks to the right.

Cross Styles St with care. Look both ways. Cars tend to speed here.

Annandale

Whites Ck Path goes under Booth St.

Path goes through a wetland. Admire the plants and hear the frogs, it all helps clean up the runoff water. Nice spot for a picnic in the shade of the she-oaks.

Left then right over Piper St to path.

Path ends at Brenan St. Turn right.

Leave Brenan St and go under light rail viaduct on a path to The Crescent.

Cross at lights and enter Chapman Rd. Crescent Timber is on your right.

Federal Park

Go behind playground to avoid the pedestrians. You can also link with Chapman St South under the light rail viaduct if heading to a cycle route along Nelson St.

Bicentennial Park

Cross the canal on a wooden bridge. It gets crowded. Take it easy. Take the wide path across the Park to Glebe Point.

Glebe

New foreshore path starts here. Again, it is often crowded with walkers, joggers, dogs. Please ride with great care. You can bypass the bendiest bit by going up Glebe Pt Rd and down Leichhardt St or Cook St or Forsyth St etc. But the foreshore path is flat and scenic.

Some tight bends here. Dont go in the water!

Foot of Cook St. Path widens out and is flat.

Path ends (until City Council extends it further in front of the school). Right up Ferry Rd. Glebe High on left.

Left at lights on Bridge Rd. Can use road or footpath. If you cross at the lights the southern footpath is wider and has fewer driveways. Just watch it at Wentworth Park Rd.

Pyrmont

At Wattle St use lights to cross to the Fishmarket

Fishmarket

Walk through, or can use footpath around the outside on Bridge Rd. Fish and chips or get some deli food or fruit.

Proceed through or around car park to Banks St under the freeway flyover.

Cross Bank St to footpath near Light Rail entry. Use lights again to cross Miller St to get to Saunders St. Proceed up Saunders to Quarrymaster Rd. Channel 10 HQ on left.

A side trip can be made here up to John St if desired. Turn right and follow a narrow footpath up to top. Used to be a famous sandstone quarry. Views of the area or explore further over to Pyrmont Point, return by Bowman St and Bank St. Otherwise head up the spiral ramp to the Anzac Bridge cycleway.

Rozelle

Cycleway continues off the bridge along north side of Victoria Rd.

New footbridge to Annandale on left. Watch for crossing pedestrians and cyclists on this blind corner. Turn right for Balmain.

Bus shelters poorly sited. Narro the path down to about 0.5 m. Aaargh! Write to your pollie/ RTA/Leichhardt Council about it.

Cross at lights. Then enter Crescent St.

L on Goodsir St

R on Evans St. Narrow road, take the lane.

Balmain

Beattie St is narrow so take the lane.

Small roundabout. Pick a gap in Mullens St traffic. You may have to be self assertive and nudge in a bit.

Loyalty Square, Balmain. Woolies on right, Vanity Fair on left. Good spot for a break.

R on Mort St

You can add a detour here to East Balmain via Trouton, Wells, Waterview, St Johns, Hart, Duke, Darling Sts to Illoura Reserve and Darling St Ferry Wharf.

Thames St Wharf. Left here into Mort Park.

Ballast Point

New Park being built at vast expense for local residents, so might as well use it!

Short set of steps

Yurulbin park and Ferry wharf.

River St continues to Water St

R on Birchgrove St

R on Glassop St

R on Punch St

Path goes under City West Link.

Joins Canal Rd. Slow speed area.

Leichhardt

Road is closed to motor traffic from here. Open to bikes and dogs!

Watch for stupidly sited cafe Bones, right on a cycle path, with lots of dog owners congregating. You can avoid the hassles by using Hawthorne Parade on other side of canal.
