The way points of this bicycle route:
This ride can be expanded or shortened in many ways. The workout is for short runs and back-strengthening. Try to see how few lights you actually have to stop for. The ride is good for any wind direction, but favours Southwest or West, and it can be done in under two hours.
Traffic here is surprisingly simple.
Compared to the obstacle course of a bike path across the street, you can actually ride normally here.
Diversey is tight here, but opens up well enough soon, and is one of the better cycling roads in this area.
Roads are smoother here, almost suburban.
Thatcher is a decent way to go, here.
Really nice stretch of Fullerton, here, but it gets bad ahead, so look for a way to cut up to Grand Ave.
You could take Austin North to Bryn Mawr, through Forest Glen and to Peterson, for a variation.
Lawrence is fine here, or you could go up through Forest Glen to Peterson.
Not a bad ride. I've done it in under two hours in traffic, but there is no real set of intervals longer than a block or two.
