The way points of this bicycle route:
Start point, head towards Washington Street, where stop sign is.
1st light take left. You'll see a community center on left.
1st light. Here's where you take right.
and school on right handside.
You'll see apartments on left & right.
1st stoplight take left.
You'll see parking lot of shopping area.
Left onto Lake Merced Blvd.
Go forward through this stop light.
Keep going until you notice a left hand turn lane at the edge of Lake Merced park.
You'll notice a semi fork. Look for left turn lane. There are no lights or stop signs...beware.
Until you hit end of road that will run into Hwy 35.
Get ready to take right at light. This is a hwy...watch out but ok to ride on it, it's wide.
Left lane stop sign coming up. You'll have to watch for cars coming up behind you fast because the lane going forward has no stop sign and cars speed through what is near the end of HWY 35. Beware.
You'll have to make sure of the cars behind you as you cross. Forward traffic speeds through.

But wide enough. Dedicated bike lane is coming up.
Keep going forward. You'll follow parallel beach for a mile or so. You have 3 options. 1)Ride on Upper Great Hwy w/dedicated bike lane; you can see the beach but cars are riding w/you. 2)Ride on sidewalk; still see beach, but it's a bumpy ride w/pedestrians. 3)Get on sidewalk than take trail down to Lower Great Hwy which runs parallel to both; you won't see beach.

They've cleaned it up. Check out the back restaurant. Yummy appetisers & drinks. Neat place w/adirondack chairs and heated lamps in back.
Right after Beach Chalet on right you'll see stop sign. This is entrance to Golden Gate Park.
Skip 1st left turn. Take the next one.
You'll ride this past man made lake on left.
Weird looking lake. Old people like it & feed the birds.

ride under overpass.
And the Science Museum.
Thats the park. Turn around and go back. Or.... better yet, find a new adventure from here.
