The route to Glasson is a much travelled route, very flat and fairly smoothy, however once you get on to the canal at Glasson it can be pretty muddy and slow going. Great if you are looking to get covered in mud. I recomend only Mountain Bikes. However when its dry a road bike or hybrid might manage.
