The way points of this bicycle route:
Very dodgy junction, St James Interchange
Passing the end of a runway on a bike
Go round both roundabouts, the cycle path starts on the west end of the overpass
Imposing fences, guys with guns, and hippies in trees.
Stock up on food as big hills coming
Steep and long climb
Start of the mountains. Amazing views. Best road ever!
Stop for water / food as no stops between here and Inveraray
Get in a nice low gear
The name says it all. Lovely descent coming up but watch out for crosswinds and idiots on motorbikes...
Braking down to Loch Fyne, alongside which you'll spend the rest of the day
Seafood restaurant, and northernmost point of trip
Good place to have lunch and do sight seeing
Lovely picturesque town, difficult to believe how close to Glasgow it is in terms of straight line distance.
Open views to Gigha and Islay. Completely different feel to the rest of the ride
Nothing to see here, but I was advised "when you're at bellochantuy you're nearly there". Which is a damnable lie after 135 miles in the saddle.
Turning inland after the long slog south, nearly finished.
Arriveé!

Day 1 of a 2-day tour I did in 2006. My longest day in the saddle through some of the nicest scenery in Central Scotland. Utterly amazing.
