Route Details

across the GWB into New Jersey, north + west thru Bergen county to Saddle River. Route tries to mostly select quieter roads. It's one stage of a loop north thru the Seven Lakes to Bear Mountain, then along the Hudson River south back to the GWB. The full loop is about 100 miles and hilly. It is the great (non-train-supported) bicycling adventure from New York City -- lakes with islands, river views, mountain views, classic descents. The next stage is "Saddle River NJ to Harriman Park NY" -- can search on Bikely for [bhvw13b]. For more details and for careful cue sheet directions see NYC to Bear Mt Adventure: www.roberts-1.com/bikehudson/r/west/nyc_bm/map on Bike Hudson Valley -- routeID [bhvw13a]. This route last checked by us in 2009.
