Highway 29 to Battleford is scenic, so scenic that it's worth riding twice. We'll visit Fort Battleford National Historic Site and other historical and cultural highlights of the Battlefords.
Wow! Spectacular scenery. Glad we didn't miss this part of the province. We'll see it again tomorrow.
Battleford: services. Fort Battleford historic site has good camping. Motels, restaurants, museums, historical and cultural attractions. It's been a relatively short day, so take some time to see the sights.
End of Day 3: Fort Battleford national historic site. Camping. Nice campground.
Back in Wilkie. We're just passing through today, but it's still worth stopping in for lunch or a snack before continuing on to Unity.
End of Day 4: Unity. Regional park west of town is nice, but has no services, pit toilets, no water. Town has offered to let us camp in town with services. Also plenty of hotels to choose from. Nice downtown with its recent Main Street redevelopment. High cycling population, bike racks on every street corner. Interesting shops. www.townofunity.com
South on 21 today, headed for Kerrobert. More outstanding scenery, including an interesting geological formation.
End of Day 5: Kerrobert. Services, camping, motel, restaurants, historical and cultural stops. The town's distinctive and historic water tower can be seen for miles. Motel and campground bought by Macro Developments in 2008, being refurbished and has been offered to us for the tour. www.kerrobertsk.com

GASP 2009: supported bicycle tour of West Central Saskatchewan. Saskatchewan’s annual provincial bicycle tour, GASP 2009 explores West Central Saskatchewan, starting and ending in Saskatoon. More than just a bike ride, it’s a fun cycling vacation with vehicle support. There are historic sites, petroglyphs, dinosaurs, cultural stops and the friendly company of fellow travellers. The route offers scenery, quiet roads, and a variety of daily distances, giving us an 8-day tour through some spectacular countryside with plenty of non-cycling activities to pique our interest.
