The way points of this bicycle route:
Start at my house: 27 Sunset Ave.
Get ready for a hugh down hill. You can take it full speed, just watch out for the rough road in a couple of the corners.
Now turning on to Route 8. Watch for traffic, it can be a little busy at rush hour and some drivers do not pass with adequate room.
Turn off Route 8 and take a quick right on Dodsworth. This is the beginning of a good steady climb that ends rather steeply.
Whew, the end of that climb is tough. Turn right on Uhl and ramble on the ridge for a while.
Get ready for a big downhill. It is steep and has some sharp curves. Be careful at the bottom -- its fast. Also, a couple dogs sometimes are hanging around the top -- just push past and dust them ;-)
Sharp right turn over a bridge with low sides. Watch out for the odd car as there's not much room.
Turn right onto 4 Mile. This road gets some traffic, so watch our for pick-ups and the like.
Hang a left onto 12 Mile. Watch our for gravel as you turn onto 12 Mile. This is the start of a great climb!
You are nopt done yet! Go left up 10 Mile and get ready for a mad downhill.
Watch out for the curve at the bottom, it is sharp and you will be flying. Also, once a black/chocolate lab came running out from the house at the bottom -- almost killed me -- so if you see him either push past or stop. Watch for cars, there are not many, but the turn at the bottom is tight.
Careful here as there is one lane bridge followed by an immedate right turn.
There are a couple of dogs through here -- just maintain your speed and out run them. Once I did have to serve up a foot sandwich -- he didn't like it and backed off.
This is the beginnnig of a small climb.
Quick downhill with the potential for a couple of yappy dogs. Stop sign and intersection at bottom, so lean back and put on the breaks.
This uphill is quick, but really steep. There are 1-2 dogs chained up on the right. They can't get you, but the'll bark a lot.
Take a right on 4 Mile. We'll be turning left in less than a mile.
Steep left turn on to Poplar Ridge. Get ready for a steep climb.
Yep, some one has a couple of goats fenced in here and they sound like babies crying.
He'll bark, but can't bite.
Wow, the end of that is really steep. Couple of horses on the right. Get ready for a quick downhill. There is sharp right curve at the bottom.
Sometimes loose. I have always just sped past. Another on a chain just a little further.
Ususally not outside, but he did give me a pretty good chase once.
There is an artist who sells pottery here. I've never stopped in, but the pottery looks interesting.
Nice long flat followed by increasing incline.
There is a baseball diamond, drinking fountain, and port-a-let in a park on the left. It's not on the map.
Watch out for the one lane bridge followed by a sharp right turn.
River raod is a long climb. It gets tough at the top. Be aware of cars.
Whew. We are back on top. Now keep pushing and keep your speed up. Let's take the lane and show those cars we can go the speed limit too!
Tower park is on the right. There are some good technical trails back there that swtich back up and down the river side. Trail heads at the ampetheater, tennis court, and parking lot on left as you pull in.
Well that was about 47.5 km or 29.5 miles. I liked it -- good hills and avoids most cars.
