Part of the San Francisco Bay Trail. Ample curbside parking by the levee.
Near Beach Park Plaza: The Body Studio & Snack Bar, Joy Restaurant (Chinese), Sweet Basil Thai Cuisine, Fukuya Japanese Restaurant, and some other shops...
Fork up ahead. Path to the left runs within Foster City limits, and to the right, towards Belmont.
Turn right temporarily leaving the Bay Trail.
Entering 10 mph area.
Cycling is prohibited on the trail beyond this point. Turn right towards Fashion Island Blvd onto bike lane on sidewalk.
Cross Mariners Island Blvd.
Cross Fashion Island Blvd onto bike lane along traffic.
Turn left towards bike trail entrance on Reef Dr corner Mariners Island Blvd with caution.
Cross Anchor Rd onto local trail through the gate to continuing Tidelands Park.
Either stay on Detroit Dr or turn left around the building. Whether or not it's part of the San Mateo Wastewater Treatment Plant, I don't know...
Pedestrian bridge up ahead sets the tone in the park's overall architecture.

Area still under construction as of July 14, 2008. Turn left and around site to resume paved trail access.

Their patio by the trail is an excellent weekday lunch stop. I recommend the stacker, that is to say, the Classic Sampler.
Entering Coyote Point...
A very rewarding uphill ride ahead. Alternate routes include a paved road to the right, a moderately lower ride to the left, and staying on the Bay Trail.
Literature about air traffic control and airport flight routes, plus a sample sound bite.
Brake Check!!! An exhilarating downslope ahead. Paved alternative to the right.
Once in a while the air around here as you leave Seal Point Park reeks of what smells like brutal sewage.
This area is usually busy in afternoons whenever in season.
Back at the Starting Point
