St Michaels is a typical late medieval North Country Church set in a small village next to the River Wyre. The Grapes pub for food and refreashment just over the bridge
Turn right to enter Hambleton
Shard bridge was formerly a toll bridge and the furthest downstream the River Wyre can be crossed other than by ferry.
By taking a right here onto the oncoming side a bike lane avoids the sometimes heavy traffic on Mains Lane.
To the left is the River Wyre pub
Right for Freeport Fleetwood shopping outlet.
Take ferry(subject to tide, weather and sailing times, normally hourly throughout the year) to Knott End and commence the route in a notherly direction, or head south out of Fleetwood to enjoy the route in a different way.

A circular 50 mile tour of Over Wyre, skirting the edges of the Trough of Bowland and following the River Wyre to its estuary at Fleetwood and Knott End. There are a few small climbs, one a short challenge but otherwise the course is largely flat and rolling through quiet rural roads.
