The way points of this bicycle route:
Bike lane approaches are very bad from south and west. Idiotic path crossing Trautwein on Alessandro.
From south this is a very fast downhill and very busy. A "Smart" street; really just a local freeway. Lots of cut-through traffic between MoVal to 91.
Bike path is on-road then on-side walk. No good signs to guide you. Look out for benches in the middle of the path, pedestrian, cars pulling out, cars turning right, etc.
Not much traffic here. Very wide shoulders. Look out for cars merging onto Magnolia.
Oblique angle WILL catch your tires. There's an alternate off-street path that's not well marked that allows for a more right-angle approach. Look out for it; useful but has tight turns.
Nice wide shoulders.
Bathrooms open early and close late. Good rest stop.
Painted and un-painted bike path. Motorists are generally respectful and road is wide enough.
Easy to miss if you're not paying attention. Stop light is helpful but have to merge left if westbound.
Don't try to continue up Serfas. It's an alternate climb if you're up for it; takes you to Green River Road.
Look for a mini-mart hidden back on the south side.
Once you enter onto the Caltrans right-of-way, shoulder disappears. Moderate, fast traffic. Prepare to sprint. Overpass is under construction. Don't know if Caltrans will build a wider shoulder.
Look out for cars.
This underpass is mostly closed to the public. Now a wildlife corridor and an emergency vehicle turn-around.
This is a circular loop to get onto the Gypsum Canyon Rd bridge. Follow the path n you'll be fine. Restrooms are across the entrance road.
Now you're home free to get to the beach. Only about 30 miles.
