The way points of this bicycle route:

Ealing

Town Hall

Haven Green

Masons Green Lane (shared-use path next to the rail line)

Turn left and follow the cycle path.

Grand Union Canal

Join the canal towpath.

Supermarket here is accessible from the canal towpath and has a coffee shop and loos. Opens 11.00 on Sundays.

Leave the canal here through Meanwhile Park. Turn left on Elkstone Road and then left again on Great Western Road.

Follow the road round to Elgin Avenue.

Maida Hill

Maida Vale

Turn right at Maida Vale tube station.

St John's Wood

Turn right into Charlbert Street. (This avoids the right turn at the end.)

Regent's Park

Straight ahead at the lights.

Turn right into Arlington Road.

Camden Town

Enter Camden High Street and move over to the right-hand lane early. It is one-way northbound.

Turn into Plender Street.

There's a segregated cycle path on Royal College Street.

Turn left then right to make the right turn into Georgiana Street at the traffic lights.

"The Constitution" pub is across the street. Beware that St Pancras Way is one way southbound (ie from your left).

Join the canal towpath via the steps.

Leave the towpath just after the bridge.

King's Cross

London Canal Museum.

Signposted London Cycle Network.

Bloomsbury

There's another segregated two-way cycle path along here.

Here people can divert to Paddington Station if they want.

Cycle crossing, light-controlled (press the button) here gets you over the Bayswater Road and into the park.

The are loos in the Serpentine Gallery.

Hyde Park

Through the gates onto the motor traffic-free road on front of the Albert Memorial.

Knightsbridge

Get into the right-hand lane at the Cromwell Road lights.

Contra-flow cycle facility (with diabolical signage at the junction. Look at the road markings.)

Fulham

Double mini roundabouts.

Enter the contraflow cycle path

Hammersmith

Riverside Studios - cafe.

Dismount and walk under the bridge.

Light-controlled crossing for cycles at the A4.

This is a better entry into King St. than the one further East.

Chiswick

It's possible to carry on to Chiswick roundabout but Wellesley Rd is quieter.

Roundabout. Beware of the narrowing caused by the traffic island in Wellesley Rd.

A dedicated cycle crossing gets you across the dual carriageway here.

Enter the cycle track alongside the A4 on the left.

Traffic lights here. Turn right. There's space to wait on the left. Beware vehicles approaching along the A4! NB the road to the south is a dead end for motor vehicles.

Ealing

Enter the shared-use path through the cemetery.

South Ealing

Over the Piccadilly Tube line

Mini roundabout

Turn left and you're nearly at the Town Hall again.
