Theres bollard/barriers at the south end of the bridge, but they are well designed. I can still get a bike and trailer around them, they just force you to slow down, not dismount.

Left onto Orient Rd.
Left into Davies Rd, often busy. To your right is a hill. To your left at the bottom of the hill about 100m are some areas to seek refuge from the traffic, theres a bus stop, an area in the middle of the road for flood water to pass through, and a small path for peds to get across just north of that.
Pedal fast!
If there wasn't much traffic I'd just use the flood water crossing in the centre island coming up on your right. Lets assume theres some very unfriendly looking traffic bearing down on you at 80km/h or more. That bus stop is looking very nice.
Wait for a break in the traffic, then head to the gap in the centre island, its marked with a yellow bollard.
Once you are on the refuge, have a good look to your north up Davies Rd before turning right, the traffic is typically moving fast here and coming over a crest just to the north.
First left into the Cutting Reserve access road.
The gate in front of you may be closed, look for the entrance onto the path to your right. Unfortunately some people like to park their vehicles in front of it.
Cross a small bridge.
You have reached the Salt Pan Creek path. Theres a toilet, water, picnic table with shade and seating, and kids playground within view.
