The way points of this bicycle route:
Downtown Berkeley BART
Oxford here is a concrete road with lots of holes. Many alternatives (e.g. go around Milvia to Virginia)
watch for intersection where one side (going up) doesn't have to stop. Also, car drivers coming down steep streets tend to ignore the right of way.
watch for car doors
Spruce is easy to follow, the map just looks like you'd be looking for turns. The view is wonderful here. Come here at sunset (with enough time to go back). If you're stuck, take the #67 bus!
go directly across that multi-street intersection to Wildcat Canyon Rd
car drivers coming up and turning left on Shasta often ignore your right of way
somewhere around here there's picnic facilities with running water.
this feels like the top. A parking lot with lots of runners. Dry toilets. No water.
start of the descent. Watch for rough spots in the pavement. Have fun!
Camino Pablo is a busy road, make sure you slow down before you get to it. From here, turn right and get to Orinda BART.
watch for the sign for the bike route (a side street for a while) because there's no bike lane for that length.
Orinda BART. Now you can go back the same way you came.
