Docklands to Bay Trail Port Melbourne
by Jules

The way points of this bicycle route:

Docklands

Starting on the Docklands bike tail, heading South. We want to join up with the Bay Trail in Port Melbourne.

"The corkscrew" - love this bridge and descent!

Turn right and head toward the retail precinct instead of following the regular Yarra trail route.

Right down Cargo Lane

Onto the footpath here, and cross at the pedestrian lights on the West side of the (nasty) intersection. You'll be able to see a bike trail over the road - get onto it.

Here's the bike trail. Bear straight (South).

Under the Westgate Bridge. Pretty.

Cross at the ped lights again.

Back onto bike trail here.

Hop down onto Johnson St at a convenient point and keep heading South.

Port Melbourne

Turn Right at Normanby Rd.

Turn Left at Ingles St

Turn right onto the "Gill Reserve Pathway" - which is a very nice shared track that runs alongside the Tram/Light Rail all the way to the beach.

Beacon Cove

Turn Left onto the Bay Trail here.

Beacon Cove

And enjoy the Bay Trail as far as you'd like to go!
