The way points of this bicycle route:
Start here or anywhwre on the route. I picked Dingle as it is a famous tourist town, and go either way, clockwise or anti. This route is described in a clockwise direction.
enjoy the view and take a break. Next comes a terrific descent. The first part is almost under cliffs and narrow so be careful, especially of toursit traffic.
Interrupt your descent (climb) here at a popular beauty spot and waterfall. Next (if descending) the road widens out and you can let it rip for a few kms. You will soon be on the coast road and heading for Stradbally. Enjoy the seaviews to the left and montains to your right.
Now or later, take a visit out this headland. The village of Castlegregory is only the start. You can head out north for several kms with sea on both sides. At the furthest point, there are 7 islands called the Maharees of Hogs heads.
Turn sharp right here and begina a 6 or 7 km ascent. The views quickly become stunning. This the climb of gleann na Gealt.
Check out the South Pole Inn, a pub once owned by Tom Creen, famous Irish antarctic explorer. Good food and beer.
These are not very severe ups or downs but the road is rarely flat
See if you can spot the famous Dingle dolphin, Fungi, or at least the boatloads of people out looking for him.
