The way points of this bicycle route:
Start at the corner of Tesla and Mines Roads. Proceed a bit more than 19 miles to the California Aqueduct. Tesla Road becomes Coral Hollow Road.
Take Care traveling don Coral Hollow Road; steep and sharp turns, poorly banked road.
Very pleasant 1% downhill grade through ranchland.
Cross the freeway
Cross I-580 and Proceed to the Bike Route adjacent to the California Aqueduct. Turn right onto the Bike path
Follow the Aqueduct bike path. Road surface is mediocre, but passable. Bike gates at each road crossing are tiresome, but the absence of cars is worth it!
Bike path has fly-over route 132
Bike path joins Blewett Road just to cross over Highway 5. Turn LEFT onto the road way towards the freeway. Bike path starts again just past freeway; it is well marked there.
Follow the bike path alongside the Aqueduct.
At the Villa Lago Shopping Center the Bike Path crosses Sperry Ave. LAST WATER FOR 26 MILES. TURN RIGHT and proceed on Sperry Ave. under the freeway.
After traveling .5 mile on Sperry Ave. you will intersect with Del Puerto Canyon Road. Turn right onto Del Puerto Canyon Road
Gentle uphill (1%-2%) for the next 19 miles
Keep your eyes trained on the countryside and you might spy a bobcat!
Good road surface all the way up. Very light traffic.
Toilets but NO POTABLE WATER
"The Wall" is about 1 mile; steep and gets steeper; from 6% to 9% grade. Very Hot!
At the Junction of Del Puerto Canyon and Mines Road is the relief of The Junction Cafe. Porta Potty, water and Food. A good place to rest after climbing the "wall" of Del Puerto Canyon.
Turn right onto Mines Road to head northwest to Livermore.
about one thousand feet of climbing in the first 4.5 miles after the junction. Two hills.
A gentle climb; the summit is abuot 2.5 miles past the junction.

Miles of a 1% descent on a quiet pretty road. A great place to make time!
Late in the day stiff headwinds can keep you cool on a hot day.
Stop sign marks the junction with Mines Road, which continues to the right; about 3.7 miles left.
