The way points of this bicycle route:
Back in Clifden. Take a break or simply continue onto the next loop (the Sky Road loop).
Narrow, winding road out of Clifden - careful
Continue on the road to Ballyconneely.
You will likely now have the prevailing winds at your back, or at least off your right shoulder from behind! Sweet sailing down between the coast and a mountain.
Roundstone has an "artists" colony or village off the main road. I guess they are known for making Bodhrans.
As you head north again, you begin to pick up a component of a headwind. Still pretty smooth riding along this road.
Take a left onto the "Bog Road". I seem to recall a sign that says it is 13 km to Clifden. The next 8 km are all into tough headwinds! Put your head down and go ...
This road seems to continually climb right out of Clifden until the far reaches of the loop. The road rises much more dramatically at the end too! Expect plenty of wind, but incredible views...
This begins a downhill run back into Clifden. This is a main road too - be careful.
That's the end. Two nice loops - beginning and ending in Clifden. Beautiful views, challenges from headwinds, and some minor hill climbs.
