The way points of this bicycle route:
L & R.
Left on Rd 95
Right on Putah Creek road
Left on Pleasants Valley.
right on Cherry Glen
Right on Lyon road. stay west of freeway.
Right on Hilborn. stay on west side of HWY80. We want to avoid the urban sprawl. Note: I purposly avoided Linear Park Bikeway. It's much like a Davis bike path. Slow.
right on Waterman. stay on west side of freeway.
do not take left on oliver.
Left on Abernathy. (or right and left on ledgewood. Either way, go west to suisun valley road)
Take the first right (go west to Suisun Valley Rd)
right on suisun valley road. Go south. pass solano college
Take Neitzel Rd. stay on west side of 80.
left on Business Center Dr. left at next intersection.
left on Green Valley road. Don't cross HWY80. Find entrance to bike path around south 80 onramp.
take a right as if you're getting on 80. There's a poorly maintained bike path here. Sections are overgrown with weeds, there are lots of little rocks and broken glass. Watch out. (alternatively! follow Green valley road across 80, it becomes lopes rd. right on Red Top Rd)
Bike path empties at hwy 12 (Jameson Canyon rd).
(AM/PM mini-mart & gas station here). Left on Red top road. follow Red Top Rd under HWY 80.
Right (south) on McGary. McGary Rd is "closed to traffic" and there's a gate, with a huge gap under which you can easily fit a bike and crawl under. I think it was deliberately designed like that, just to keep cars out.
This is a mostly uphill stretch, with the wind blowing against you. Smile and wave to the motorists stuck in backed up traffic.
There's another gate here, but this one has a doorway sized opening so you don't need to crawl under it.
Right on American Canyon (crosses HWY80). This is the top of a hill. Take American Canyon all the way down. (alternatively, continue on McGary and take Solano Bikeway on east side of 80.)
Left on Broadway (go south). Actually, anything going south is ok, but broadway has a bike lane.
There's a Jack-in-the-Box here. The staff was friendly and let me rest here. I bought a coffee.
stay on Sonoma (left). Actually, you may not even notice there was a fork.
Whatever way, get to Sonoma Blvd and head south. This goes over Zampa (Carquinez) bridge.
There's a motel here. Turn on to Maritime Academy drive. look to the left for the Entrance to the Zampa Bridge pedestrian walkway.
Bridge pedestrian path exits into an intersection. Rigt on San Pablo (west).
Take a left onto Parker Ave. Continue for a few blocks.
Stay right. This becomes San Pablo Ave again.
Left on Appian Way. This is an ascent up a hill, and then down the other side. Cross hwy 80
Stay on Appian (right).
Right on San Pablo Dam Rd. Don't cross 80 (overpass). Stay on east side of freeway on Amador St. left on Riverside, shasta, Glenn, or McBride. Find Arlington.
Get on the left side of the road (opposing traffic). It will save you some trouble at the wierd intersection coming up.
Take Amador. Do not cross HWY80 with San Pablo Dam rd.
Left on McBryde. This is the beginning of some nasty hills to climb. If you're not feeling up to it, don't do this.
Right on Arlington. Arlington starts off with a big time climb, and then settles into some up & down sweeping windy road.
Possibly (walk) up Marin and continue along Grizzly Peak. Marin is very steep, but you can get the elevation over with that way.
Claremont up to Grizzly Peak/Skyline, or Tunnel Rd.
