The way points of this bicycle route:

Ashburton

try to get round this in less than 2.5 hrs!Parking on the road, public toilets by hotel

Head East and turn R, and imm L

After 500yds or so, the road swings round to the L, take the straight on-feels like you're going R-pass the Lavender House Hotel on your L

Water Turn

carry straight on up the obvious hill

Auswell

Turn R

Keep climbing-this is Alpine Training

Hemsworthy Gate

Turn L

Harefoot Cross

Turn R

Swallerton Gate

Jay's Grave

Look up the story of jay's Grave

Heatree Cross

Canna Park

Letterford Cross

Challacombe Cross

This is nearly the whole point of the route, you're going to enjoy the next five miles-but first a gentle mile uphill

Stop and look at the view-you should have taken an hour to here

Still off the brakes, hairpin coming up

Grimspound

Watch out for cars parked and coming up Make a note to check out the Neolithic village next time round

Turn L up the Natsowrthy Valley-coffee available in cafes, and sometimes the village hall

Going well-should be 1.5hrs to here

Look R for Bowermans Nose

Manaton

Kestor Inn

Great descent coming up

Bovey Tracey

Stop for tea if you like-but if you don't, make sure you descend to the roundabout!, should be 1.75hrs to here-you have to go some to make 2.5hrs at Pear Tree X
