The way points of this bicycle route:
Follow the Yarrow Central Rd. east past the stores to Poplar rd. (three liquer store here in one block, gas stations, convenience stores, video, pizza and other stores). You will also pass the Yarrow Central Park and Postal Office.
Turn left down Poplar Rd. to pedestian access to school grounds.
This is Yarrow Elementary. Cross the field and then around the school to the road.
Turn left down road to the dyke.
This section is only a couple hundred meters long on flat gravel road.
This part you have to walk the bike( 100m). The rocks along the tracks are very loose and riding is hard.
There is a walkway on the bridge made for pedestians and bikers. Good spot for jumping in the river on hot summer days. Must be a good swimmer, curent is strong.
I wish I could ride the rail road tracks from here it would take fifteen minutes off my commute. This part is very rough. Trail is bumpy and there are lots of rock in the road.
This section is a nice flat ride on grave road. Very scenic. Benches and picnic tables. Access to the river is easy in many spots along this section.Popular with local residents for fishing and just hanging out at the river.
Still the same as the last point.
Start of road course. Dyke trail continues along the river to Vedder Crossing Bridge. Also a nice ride but not the way I go.
Look for the old western town on right side of road before you reach S.Sumas Rd. Not sure what it is but it has false fornts on the building that looks like a old western town.
There is a cool looking junk yard place on the left side of road.
This part of the road is long and flat. Moving into a rural setting
Vedder Rd. is very busy (lots of traffic). There isn't any bike lanes. I stay on the sidewalk.
