The way points of this bicycle route:
Begin at the cathedral. Proceed north on Hradebni.
Proceed north on the road to Třeboň. (The roads to the west go to the Austrian border crossings.)
Proceed north out of town on Route 154 (Cycle Track 1034).
Railroad crossing.
After the pond, turn left off Route 154 onto Cycle Track 1050.
Vesky rybnik, a pond, is on the right.
Turn left and continue on Cycle Track 1034.
Turn right and continue on Cycle Track 1034. This village contains the Museum of Peasant Culture, housed in an old schoolhouse. The village preserves aspects of its original layout, and its history has been carefully researched and presented. Even the process of emigration away from the village, some to the USA, has been chronicled.
Cycle Track 1034 turns left.
Turn right onto Route 155.
The Schwarzenberg Vault, a huge neo-Gothic mausoleum, is on the left. It is open for visitors, and sometimes houses chamber music concerts.
Cross isthmus before entering city from south. There are several campsites near here. A path for bikes and pedestrians circles Svět Pond.
Svět Pond is an artificial lake. Several interpretive trails begin here
City Center.
Underpass (E49/E551) under major highway. Proceed on Route 24 (Cycle Track 1034).
Cycle Track 1034 turns left off Route 24. For the next 20 km or so, you will see a lot of bogs and fish ponds. The countryside is very flat.
A small lake is on the left. Cycle Track 1034 turns right.
Intersection with Route 24.
Railroad crossing. Continue on Cycle Track 1034.
The next 7 kilometers can be done on a mountain bike route through a wooded area. For an alternate on-road route, stay left to continue on Cycle Track 1034 through Lužnice and Kolence. The two alternative routes join again at Novosedly nad Nežárkou.
Bridge
Bridge over River Nežarká.
Turn left on Nežárecká. An alternative way into the city is to go straight and turn left at Mlýnská, then cross the bridge just south of the castle. From that vantage, you will get the most extraordinary views of the castle.

Part of the Rozmberk loop on the Prague-Vienna Greenways trail system, this route passes through the well-preserved Renaissance city of Třeboň. The route is relatively flat.
