My actual starting place is home... this is a mile or so away from there so as to keep my domicile to myself.
Yum Yum Donuts
Watch out for the "Bulb-outs" on the corners on Broadway... Not very bike friendly. Best bet is to stay in the traffic lane and ummm share the road.
Look at the big gas tanks! No, don't throw that hand grenade! There is a short little bike trail here that leads into old Sac and runs along the Sacramento River
Look at the perty water..
Look both ways... cross the street..
Stop at the Stop Sign... set an example, people
Look at the perty hotel
Go under CApitol Mall and you are in old sac proper. Be good and stop at the stop sign at the base of the hill! Gawk at the tourists...
Look at the nifty RR museum.. now go under I5
Carefull ...share the road
stay in the right left turn lane..
My gym (one of them) is right here... next to the Hard Rock (boooring)
Look at the perty capitol.. beware the governator (if your name is Sarah Conner)
Once a lovely landmark ...until the mayor decide to paint it an ugly gold.. Share the road, people.

Stay on target... I almost lost it here...lotsa loose rock.. bad visibility.. Look ALL AROUND before you cross...
