After traversing the Rocky Mountains, this day's journey is welcome relief. You'll be riding across the high plains with a 1,300 foot drop in elevation over 86 miles. There are almost no services along this section, so you should plan on carrying extra water and food. Services are only available in Limon, Kit Carson and Cheyenne Wells.
