Caution advised at Kirkdale roundabout - motorists do not give way for bikes here!
Turn RIGHT at the traffic lights and onto Newlands Park Road.
Follow road to the RIGHT to continue along Lennard Road.
Turn RIGHT here onto Kings Hall Road - there is a subway underpass at New Beckenham station ahead which can be used to access Park Road without crossing multiple junctions.
Turn LEFT here onto Bridge Road.
Turn RIGHT then immediately LEFT across the main road onto Lawn Road.
Turn RIGHT onto Park Road towards Beckenham.
Turn RIGHT to join Southend Road (A2016), towards Beckenham town centre.
Turn LEFT at the traffic lights after passing the church onto Bromley Road.
Go straight over at the crossroads onto Wickham Road.
Take the 3rd EXIT onto South Eden Park Road.
Straight over at the roundabout to continue along S Eden Park Rd.
Continue into Beckenham Road.
Continue into Station Road.
Continue into Wickham Court Road.
Caution advised on this fast twisty descent.
Cover the brakes and be alert to vehicles pulling out of the junctions on either side of the road.
Make sure to brake early and watch out for vehicles slowing before the roundabout.
Straight over the roundabout and up a short hill, where the roads begin to leave suburbia behind.
Look to the left for a stunning view across the valley - just make sure not to take your eyes off the road for too long!
At the crossroads go straight over onto Skid Hill Lane.
Continue along into Hessiers Road.
Continue along road into Chelsham Court Road.
Continue into Beech Farm Road.
Turn LEFT onto Croydon Road, a fairly busy A road with some fast moving traffic.
Go straight over at the roundabout (2nd exit) onto Titsey Hill.
Get into an aerodynamic tuck and on to your big chainring for this fast descent!!
Caution! Be prepared to brake for traffic pulling out of the two road junctions on the left.
Follow the road to the village of Limpsfield.
The lovely village of Limpsfield.
Turn LEFT at the traffic lights onto Westerham Road - after a short hill move across to the filter lane to turn RIGHT onto Kent Hatch Road.
Turn RIGHT here into Kent Hatch Rd.
A fairly long moderate hill leading to Crockham Hill.
Continue on to Edenbridge, onto Hartfield Road.
Straight over crossroads to continue along Main Road.
Continue into Station Road.
Stay LEFT and continue on to join Hartfield Road.
Follow road round to the LEFT.
Cross the A264 to join Edenbridge Road.
At Hartfield turn LEFT to Withyham.
Turn LEFT here to go through Groombridge, towards Fordcombe.
Turn LEFT onto the Ashurst Rd and look for the RIGHT turn to Fordcombe and Penshurst.
Turn RIGHT here for the road to Fordcombe and Penshurst.
Follow the LEFT fork along the Fordcombe Rd to the town of Fordcombe.
A long moderate climb leading to Penshurst.
Turn LEFT onto the Penshurst Road to Chiddingstone Causeway.
Turn LEFT at the junction towards Four Elms.
Pass the reservoir on your right following the road to Four Elms.
Follow road signs to Four Elms.
At this crossroads turn RIGHT to Ide Hill
If you feel like a challenge- keep going straight up Toys Hill for a very tough climb that is both long and steep, otherwise turn RIGHT onto Green Lane for the less extreme Ide Hill.
This long steady climb will test your mettle as you near the village of Ide Hill, offering a challenging climb.
This is where the road gets steeper before reaching Ide Hill village.
Turn LEFT here to continue to Ide Hill village.
Here is a good place for a short rest and bite to eat before continuing down a fast descent heading to Sundridge.
Watch out for oncoming traffic along this fast stretch of road.
Turn LEFT here towards Brasted High Street.
Turn RIGHT onto Rectory Lane towards Brasted Hill for a real hill climbing challenge!!
Here is the last chance to take the easy option and turn LEFT onto Coles Lane for Hogtrough Hill, avoiding the thigh burning climb of Brasted Hill.
Crossing the M25 bridge you will start to think that Brasted Hill is a piece of cake, however - the best is yet to come..
At this point it may be wise to select your granny gear-and be prepared to be humbled by this short but arduous climb!!
This is where it starts to get REALLY tough! Standard gearing makes this a real test of commitment.
By now your lungs will be heaving, and your thighs will be burning! Resist the temptation to get off and walk, as the road levels off just after the road bends round to the left.
If you made it then congratulate yourself, catch your breath, and enjoy the feeling of relief that the climb is over!
Take a LEFT here onto Stoneings Lane.
Turn LEFT at this junction onto Main Road.
Turn RIGHT here onto Cudham Lane South, for a fast moderate downhill section before the next turn.
Start slowing down and look out for the fast approaching LEFT turn ahead.
Watch your speed here, as the turn comes up fast, so be prepared to brake hard if you are still flying!
Watch out for the LEFT turn now.
Give way to any vehicle turning right from Church Hill, because if they pull out you may not be able to stop in time, as the road drops off quite dramatically here.
Take great care on these twisting bends, as they can easily catch you out as you build speed rapidly on the descent.
You will easily reach speeds in excess of 40 mph if you are not careful - enjoy the ride!! ; )
As you round the bend the speed begins to fall off, and you realise you have some work to do on this fairly steep climb.
This hill begins to hurt now -can you remain in the saddle for the climb?
Turn RIGHT here onto the High Street towards Keston.
Get into a tight aero tuck for a long fast descent leading to a moderate climb before joining the main road traffic once more.
Turn LEFT onto Downe Road.
Turn RIGHT at the roundabout onto the A233 Westerham Road.
Turn LEFT here onto Heathfield Road towards Keston.
Turn LEFT at mini roundabout onto Pickhurst Lane
Turn RIGHT (4th exit) at this roundabout to join Wickham Road.
Turn RIGHT here onto Wickham Road.
Keep going straight and cross Coopers Cope Road to use the subway by New Beckenham Station.
Cross Coopers Cope Road here to continue along Park Road.
Take the shortcut through the subway - but remember this is not a cycle path.
