The way points of this bicycle route:
start of big nasty hill
start of nasty hill. sign says "share the road" with a bicycle icon, but that's the only sign that there's been any attempt to make this route bike-friendly. the lane is plenty wide but there's no bike lane, and there's no place to turn around if you can't make it to the top
wide sidewalk wanders off- I wonder if that's supposed to be a bike path. But it has even more ups and downs that the road!
big fancy neighborhood, featuring many mcmansions
shopping center has nice produce and fish, unlike albertsons at Blossom Hill/Monterey. Prices vary- from quite high to OK. They mislabeled my black bean salad as tabouleh and I almost paid double for it ($9/lb for a basically wheat-based product!). There's also a Starbucks here- sadly there don't seem to be very many good coffee shops in SE SJ.
