The way points of this bicycle route:
Stop hear and breathe the fresh air. Great public loos and coffee of course. Look out for reversing cafeine crazed drivers
Turn right into Douglas Parade
Opposite the back of Scienceworks is the departure point for the Punt, which operates occasionally, taking pedestrians with bikes into the city.
Slight downhill and uphill section, the nearest you get to a hill on this flat ride.
Turn right at Somerville Road and swoop down into a left hand turn into Docklands Highway. Look out for trucks.
Change into the right lane just before Parker Street and them turn right and swoop down into another left turn into Docklands Hwy.
Watch out for bike traffic at this point. Convergence of three paths and a tight bridge track. Don't even think about crossing the River on the road heading in-bound=dangerous)
Wave to the patient truck drivers waiting for the bikes to get across in front of them.
As you go along the bike track, keep an eye out for speedsters coming up behind, and oncoming bike traffic. This route carries thousands of cyclists into work and back at peak hours.
Beware of constantly changing paths here, due to roadworks.
Watch for pedestrians wandering around the tramstop here. Pick your way around the public art, to get to the end of Collins Street, then power up the hill. Get into the centre of the tram lines if you dare.
