The way points of this bicycle route:
Exit station either on north side and head down to roundabout. or on south side and then turn left towards roundabout
Go around roundabout and then across toucan crossing to cycle lane on pavement on "wrong side" of road
Continue ahead along cycle lane
At T in turn right towards railway and go under it
Bear right after bridge and follow path, then turn left and join industrial estate road
TL Mason Road
Cross main road by toucan crossing and follow cycle route signs to right on the other side
TL following cycle route sign (NCR1)
At cycle route junction TL following path alongside river and ponds (Cycle route 51)
At main road follow cycle signs - cross road and then take track heading to the right, leading to short section of gravel path
Follow cycle path alongside river
Watch out for cycle signs to join residential road away from river
At more major road TR Hythe Quay (NB Cycle route is Left, do not follow!)
At roundabout SO Haven Road
TR Whitehall Road
TL Old Heath Road
Fork L Rowhedge Road
TR Head Street or continue on 400m to see riverside (recommended) and then return to junction
TL towards Fingringhoe
At X-roads TR signed Abberton
TL on B1025 signed West Mersea (NB could be busy road)
Cross "Strood Channel" onto Mersea Island - don't forget to check the tide times, see www.west-mersea.co.uk
Bear L signed East Mersea
TR into Dawes Lane

TR where road goes inland (only footpath along seashore)

Go back across the causeway

At high tide you will get wet wheels down here. Turn round at the end of the road and return the way you came
