The way points of this bicycle route:
Start at the Corner of State and Pearl.
take a right here between 2 buildings. You'll see steps to a footbridge that crosses 787.
Follow the River north on the asphalt trail.
At this point you'll enter the Corning Preserve Multi-purpose trail.
There is a parking lot here; go under 787.
Watch out, this road can be hairy since drivers go fast here.
At the corner of 25th and 2nd, there is a Stewarts where you can get ICE CREAM.
Take whatever route you want through Green Island.
If you take a right here and ride to the end, there is an unused rail road bridge you can play on. Also, there are bizarre corporate office buildings.
There is a really big pile of junk here. Or there was last spring.
Ride down Main street and see Glorious Cohoes!! ha ha. On White Street, there is a cool bar called the Black Cat Ale House that opens at noon. Drink up!
At this point you have just passed Harmony Mills, once the largest textile mill in the United States.
from here you can see Cohoes Falls, which is really great in the spring when the Mohawk is full of snow melt and rain water, but not so good in the summer when all the water is diverted into the Erie Canal.
Here you cross the Erie Canal. To look at a lock and maybe watch a boat go through it, look to the southeast and ride your bike to the lock you see.

right around here on 6th is the Sanctuary for Independent Media, the coolest movie/art/ music venue in Troy .
The Troy Waterfront Farmers Market is located somewhere on this street on Saturdays.
