The way points of this bicycle route:
This first section is a nice warm up along rolling hills.
This last half mile up to Page Mill is a killer. 10 to 13% grade.
Page Mill is very long but not extremely steep. Pace yourself and watch out for cars, especially during Christmas tree buying season.
There's a good long descent in here that makes a great reward for all of the climbing.
Old la Honda is a great climb as well and can be accessed from Portola Road below.
Route 84 is an exciting descent. Keep your speed up and you can ride in the middle of the lane because you'll be going as fast as the cars.
Careful at this intersection. Cars come down the hill heading East on Sand Hill pretty quickly.
