The way points of this bicycle route:
I lived nearby here, and the Southwest quadrant of circle-like Charlotte were great. Starting from a hotel parking lot, this ride is good for Southerly to Westerly winds.
Traffic here is heavy, but the road is wide, especially on "York Road", which is really South Tryon.
Shopton and Beam are options here for variations.
Westinghouse is another variation, here.
York is a great ride all through here! Gentle rollers.
Hard right at Steele Creek, a more winding, but safe and fast road. Alternatively, you can go left here and roll down to Gold Hill Road, then across to 21, then up Nations Ford, to Westinghouse.
Industrial, alternated with wide-open areas here.
Left on Old Dowd. Much more of a country road here.
Right on Sam Wilson. Alternatively, you can keep straight and go into Belmont, get on 273, take that up to 27, then across to 1641.
Straight, or right on Wilkinson for another long interval variation. You can fly on this road if the wind is out of the West!
Much quieter out here.
Right on Moore's Chapel.
Right on Little Rock.
Now onto Wilkinson for some fast rolling!
Right on Old Steele Creek. There's a nice drop off and climb here.
Back on Tyvola to come around to Renaissance Park.
Back to the lot!
