Cedar River Trail

The way points of this bicycle route:

START - Cedar Rapids (Tait Cummins Access)

Parking is at Tait Cummins Access, right off C Street SW past the railroad tracks on your left.

The Burlington, Cedar Rapids & Northern Railway would have continued straight from here. However, the trail will continue to hover next to the Cedar River. Be wary of limited sight distance here.

Don't sniff the air around here too much, depending on the mood of the wind, it could get pretty smelly around here. The industries are right across the river here.

The historic iron-cast railroad bridge is still here.

Skate Park

Parking from the Skate Park is located across the street. Cross the 16th Avenue SW Bridge.

Turn left, the trail will continue to follow the Cedar River from this side from now on.

You could continue straight, but you'll eventually have to backtrack back here. Turn right onto 8th Avenue.

Turn left here.

Greene Square Park (Downtown)

Take a break here if you'd like, in the midst of the lively downtown environment.

Cross 1st Avenue. Very busy here, but you should be fine thanks to the crosswalk.

Hover left to stay on 4th St. 4th St. becomes Sickle Dr.

Continue to follow the trail here.

Cedar Lakes Loop

There's a nice loop here, if you are interested.

Keep to the right to follow the loop, otherwise continue straight.

Cross Shaver Road.

Turn right to stick with the creek.

Cross J Avenue.

42nd Street

Be careful here, this is the most dangerous roadway to cross.

Collins Road (IA Hwy 100)

Parking lot located off Werner Avenue.

Blairs Ferry Road

Another busy intersection.

Cross around here to the other side of Center Point Road.

Follow the trail across the bridge over the railroad tracks, and then to the right.

Hiawatha - END

Boyson Road. This is the starting point for the 52-mile Cedar Valley Nature Trail. Now double-back the way you came and you will have completed one of the most popular trails in the Cedar Rapids area!
