The way points of this bicycle route:
Main Car Park and Visitors Centre
Turn right out of car park. Head on up road. A6187
Straight on, not along Winnats Rd
Quick breathing point! Ready for a climb!? Continue on up broken down tarmac road.
Some more broken away road sections make for some interesting bits!

There are other ways to join up this section but they are all marked as 'Footpath' so we take the road.
Right at the Junction on to the A6187
Turn right, up past the car park...
Turn off at this point, through the gate at the right and down the first descent.
Black Descent, rocky at top, muddy and rutted towards bottom.
Left at gate....
Turn left at farm and take road down toward Edale.
Turn Right and follow main road for just under 2 miles.
Take the left off the road, up a narrow singletrack section. Entrance can be a little hidden by trees.
Take the fireroad that follows up round the hill....
Water crossing. Continue Up fireroad.
Left. Along muddy track..

Start of Old Roman Road descent. Rocky, knarly, slippery, great fun but very technical!
Look out for the singletrack sections on the right that are smoother and faster.
Turn Sharp right here, head towards A57, Snake Rd
Cross the snake and continue up..
Feel the pain!!
Continue following the fireroad....
At this point you have an option. Either you follow the route on towards Gores descent that will take you via Fairholmes Visitors Centre and a cuppa tea, or, turn right and drop down Hagg Farm descent. The Fairholmes loop adds 3.7 miles to total route distance.
Continue on fireroad down to gate.

Sharp right hander at bottom closely followed by a gate and main road!

Follow Road towards Fairholmes.
Take right off main road, up fireroad climb. Follow all way up. Or Drop down to visitors centre for a cuppa and continue after!
Long steady fireroad climb
And breathe!! Turn left back onto fireroad taken earlier.
Take second Left to gate.
Gate. Good descent with some nice natural switchbacks. Rocky, rooty, muddy. w00t!!
Beware of gate!!

Drop down road to A57
Cross A57, down steep fire road to bridge at bottom
Cross brigde and climb up towards beast! Mainly a push up im affraid...
Continue up through gate to easier trails.
Take same way back towards Edale.
Follow the same way back.
Water crossing.
Continue following fireroad
Turn right onto road and follow to just past rail bridge.
Turn sharp left onto farm fireroad.
Hard climb. Muddy greasy and slippery!
Steep and nasty!
Start of last cracking descent back to Castleton. Turn sharp left, go up along the trail for abor about 200m then start to drop down the bridal path.
Drop down to the right.
Turn left for pindale descent. Narrow rocky descent.
Follow Hollowford rd back to Castleton
Hollowford Rd turns into Back St.
Turn right off Back St onto Cross St
Turn right at round-about into car park
End of ride. Bug cup-o-tea and chippy time!!
