Route Details

south to pretty farmland + creekside riding then east thru Mechanicsburg + Camp Hill to the wide Susquehenna River and the capital city of Harrisburg (both with worthwhile sights). Labels on points make a detailed cue sheet (click Show, select Cue Sheet). Lots of turns, that's why we have GPS nowadays. Positions of points were tweaked for GPS navigation, and most were tested in actual riding. For info + connections to other routes see www.roberts-1.com/b/x/gvd, routeID [gvd1e]. Can make a loop with this route by combining it with route "Harrisburg to Carlisle northerly" -- search [gvd1w] on Bikely. Not checked by us since 2009.
