This is a great ride for Winter training in January and February. We start, literally, at Scott Creek, on the Milpitas/Fremont line.
This ride does two great riding roads: Calaveras and Palomares. This includes "The Wall" on Calaveras, which is short but STEEP! From Sunol, the Palomares loop can be done in either direction. We alternate to keep things interesting.
The last 14 miles of this ride are the brutal Felter-Sierra section. It's steep. We usually leave out this section until February.
Do this ride a few times and you will definitely be ready for the Solvang Century in March.
