The way points of this bicycle route:
START; Go NORTH on HOWARD St., pasr Centre Street.
RIGHT----> @ the first street; MONUMENT Street. Howard Street, just north of Monument Street, is known as Antique Row because of all the Antique shops.
Just past Park Ave., look for the Maryland Historical Society on the right. (Adm. Chg.) Thry have the original manuscript of the poem, The Star Spangled Banner, by Francis S. Key.
Continue straight^ past Cathedral St. into Mount Vernon Place. There are steps inside the Washington Monument where you can climb to the top for the view. This area is something very rare in America; a european-style monumental public park.
RIGHT----> @ CHARLES St. [Rt. 139]
RIGHT----> @ CENTRE St. The entrance to the Walters Art Museum is in the middle of the block on Centre Street. Admission to the museum is Free. They have a cafe, and a separate snack room. Take your time; there is much to see.
Admission is free, but special traveling-exibits have an admission fee.
The Contemporary Art Museum is on the northwest corner of Centre St. & Park Ave.
The station is to your left on Howard St.
