The way points of this bicycle route:
Start at the Quay St rest area with tables, toilets and a board walk.
Once a great pub on the corner - Prince of Wales. A pub no more. Watch the traffic at this intersection.
Telegraph Rd gets you away from houses and into Sugar Cane fields in the blink of an eye.
Normally a quiet road, but watch for speeding younger drivers.
Be very careful here, traffic travels at speed and drivers tend not see entering traffic.
Turn left here for a quick steep climb to the top of an extinct Volcano.
A very steep, but relatively short climb. Pick a low gear early or you'll be walking up to the top.
Spectacular views of the surrounding areas. Look out to sea on a clear day and you should be able to see Fraser Island. A great place to rest a while and enjoy the views.
Some nice ocean views as you ride towards Bargara.
A very popular spot with the locals with both ocean and sheltered swimming.
A rest area with BBQ's, toilets and a shelter shed. A short walk to the Basin - a protected area for swiming.
All amenities, including a Pub and various restaurants and shops. Grassed areas for taking a break. Can be quite busy at times.
If the wind is right you will often see surfers enjoying the waves.
Toilets and a nearby caravan park.
The road from here back to Bundaberg can get a little busy at times. The road has a reasonable verge for most of the way.
Large shopping centre including a Bakery.
Back to the start area in Quay St.
